Course Description

This practical, information-packed session will provide your workers with an understanding of their legislative WHS duties and responsibilities, equip them with the skills to identify and assess risk and enable them to communicate health and safety matters confidently with team members and their supervisors. The course will focus on increasing awareness of Coronaviruses in general, and COVID-19 more specifically, and by so doing, increase awareness of the standards for employer and worker responsibility in observing and being active in identifying practicable controls to implement to reduce risk. The course will also will provide guidance on what your business needs to do to develop and implement their COVID safety plans ahead of reopening should yours have been affected.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Understand their key duties from the new Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 and the Work Health and Safety Act 2020
  • Understand and apply the principles of SAMM – spot the hazard – assess the risk – make the change – monitor and review
  • Carry out a basic job safety analysis
  • Understand key elements of hazardous substances and SDS
