Meet the International Trade team:
Darren is an International Trade professional with over 20 years import, export, sales and marketing experience to more than 30 countries.
As the Manager of the International Trade and Investment Centre at CCI and the Austrade TradeStart Advisor for WA, Darren provides international sales and marketing development and technical cross border trade facilitation to help members and customers safely and profitably navigate trade transactions.
Darren has a demonstrated track record in:
- Drafting and negotiating international commercial contracts
- Agent/distributor and partner search and engagement
- Technical tariff and logistics management
- Market selection, market entry strategies and cross-cultural marketing
- Inbound and outbound product/service compliance requirements
Darren has earned two WA State export awards in international trade development roles and has an extensive international network.
He also completed his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Journalism at Curtin University.
Craig is a former Australian Trade Commissioner and has successfully commercialised international markets across a broad range of industry sectors including agribusiness, health and medical, automotive, construction, marine, defence and oil and gas and the professional services industries.
Craig’s international marketing career has included Austrade and Commercial Consular roles in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha, Tehran and Atlanta. He has also held corporate global supply chain roles in contracting and procurement for Chevron, Woodside and AMEC Foster Wheeler introducing Australian supplier capability into the global supply chains of global contractors and suppliers such as Bechtel, Samsung, Hyundai, Daewoo, Siemens, General Electric.
He has extensive training in international marketing and has helped research, launch, commercialise and troubleshoot a range of products for iconic Australian companies entering new markets including – Orbital Engine Company, Ego Pharmaceuticals, Wilson Transformer Company, Austal Ships and Worley Parsons.
Craig is passionate about the need for Australian businesses to better understand market cultural context when developing entry strategies; the fundamental importance of undertaking due diligence; and the importance of export market planning to deliver effective export strategy to accelerate the commercialisation process.
John is a corporate financing professional with over 10 years of experience in corporate advisory and equity financing across a range of industries including mining, technology, infrastructure and general industrials. He has advised both local and international clients on transactions ranging from early stage companies to strategic takeovers of both private and public companies.
Prior to joining the CCI, John worked at a leading stock broker in a corporate advisory role, focusing on natural resources. John has experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and IPOs.
Prior to this, John led an infrastructure start up for Western Power in Perth. John has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (UM-India) and a Master of Business Administration (UWA) specialising in corporate failure and turnaround.
