Eight CCI members have been recognised as some of the state’s best and brightest after being announced as finalists in the WA Industry and Export Awards 2017.
The awards, sponsored by CCI, are in their 29th year and recognise and support the state’s most innovative and forward-thinking companies.
CCI members AGRIFresh, Austal, Blue Ocean Monitoring, Epichem, Geflex, Kwik-Zip Spacers, Scitech and Vekta Automation are among the 22 finalists.
The finalists are from a range of fields including agriculture, manufacturing, education, health and biotechnology and defence.
Premier Mark McGowan says the awards showcase the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of Western Australian business, from the top end of town to small, family-run operations.
"This year’s finalists represent the best and brightest of what Western Australia has to offer - not just to the rest of the nation but to the world,” he says.
"We have a long history of being a reliable and exceptional exporter of goods and services, and the finalists recognised today are helping to continue that reputation into the future.”
Award categories include the C.Y. O'Connor Award for Excellence in Engineering and Technology, WA Women in International Business and Western Australia Exporter of the Year.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on October 26, 2017.
State winners of the 12 export award categories will automatically qualify for the 55th National Export Awards in December 2017.
