Education & Training policy

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (CCI) Education and Training Policy work endeavours to represent the business community in policy debate across all levels of the education and training system. Additionally, there is a focus on the delivery of education and training initiatives and programs that deliver outcomes from project work to assist in policy development and advice.

The CCI's Education and training Committee is represented by a diverse range of industry sectors and is a  forum for members to provide input into education and into education and training policy, to reflect the current and changing needs of industry, to give direction to the CCI in the education and training area and to influence government policy and processes.

The CCI supports an education and training system that is intentionally competitive, provides choice, promotes flexibility and is responsive to the needs of individuals and industry. The CCI is represented on a number of education and training committees, councils and advisory groups including the State Training Board, Curriculum Council, the new National Vocational Equity Advisory Council and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Employment, Education and Training Committee.

During August 2009, the CCI released its Building A Better Tomorrow: Education Reform in WA Discussion Paper.
