High Wide Load Corridor 2 Project (19 July 2006)
You would be aware of the growing trend towards the use for land based projects (including shipbuilding) of the modular fabrication technology, which was originally developed for the offshore oil and gas industry. Such techniques allow the bulk of steelwork fabrication and equipment installation to be performed in controlled workshop environments, in a number of locations simultaneously, significantly shortening project schedules and reducing manpower requirements.

Local Impacts Committee (16 Sep 2005)
The Local Impacts Committee (LIC) chaired by Tony McRae MLA, which you established following the Review, was tasked with identifying and recommending changes to the road system to improve safety and efficiency. Included in the LIC’s charter is the development of a strategy for managing traffic on major roads in the south west metropolitan corridor including Leach Highway, South Street, and Stock Road.

Leach Highway Heavy Vehicle Diversion (May 2005)

Metropolitan Region Scheme Amendment No. 1089/33 - East Landsdale Precinct 64 (January 2005)
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia (CCI) is concerned that the proposed amendment to the Metropolitan Region Scheme that could result in the transfer of 225ha of land known as East Landsdale Precinct 64 from rural to the urban zone could have serious consequences for a critical telecommunications facility located adjacent to Precinct 64.

AusLink: National Land Transport Plan (August 2004)
CCI notes the outcomes of the AusLink: National Land Transport Plan where funds for key Western Australian land infrastructure that will provide substantial economic benefits to the nation have been committed. However, we are concerned that funding for critical transport linkages to the Burrup Peninsula has been overlooked.
