CCI’s Employee Relations Advice Centre is your first port of call for information and advice on all manner of HR and employee relations issues.

Businesses that join under the Member Plus arrangement receive unlimited access to the Employee Relations Advice Centre as part of their annual membership fee, which provides fast, practical advice by phone, fax or email.  

Our friendly, qualified business advisors are also available by appointment to discuss your issue in depth (*may incur additional fees depending on the issues complexity and the time it takes to resolve).

Small business specific training and events

A sample of the courses offered by CCI, which are specifically designed for small businesses include:

Practical publications for small business

CCIWA produces a range of publications available for members to purchase. These publications contain templates, pro formas and other practical information to help small businesses manage their employees.

The Employment Forms Guide

This Guide includes standard, ready-to-use employment forms for just about every facet of managing staff, from recruitment through to termination, including; employment contracts, written warnings, HR Policies, payroll processes, termination letters, and much more. Each form comes with a set of guidance notes explaining its purpose and application in the workplace.

The Recruitment and Termination Guide

Provides practical advice on how to manage staff and includes information regarding job advertisements, interviewing, employment contracts, performance appraisals, termination and redundancy, and more.

Other Guides

Other guides utilised by small businesses include the “Federal Industrial Law Guide”, explaining important federal laws with updates on the Workplace Relations Act, and the “Minimum Conditions of Employment Guide”, containing the entire Minimum Conditions of Employment Act with guidance notes.

There have been many changes to both minimum conditions of employment in general, and to the federal IR laws, with the onset of the new WorkChoices legislation. Therefore maintaining an up-to-date resource is becoming increasingly more important to small business owners.

These guides are updating services for those businesses that subscribe to them, therefore CCIWA notifies subscribers of any changes to legislation or regulations that affect the material in the guides.

The growth of e-business, and an increasing need to have online applications for business, has meant that many small businesses have needed to develop websites, online ordering facilities and other online applications for their business.

Due to the highly technical nature of this some small business owners have developed ineffective online applications, or have simply not developed any e-business facilities (including websites and e-mail domains).
