The sheer size of Western Australia’s Great Southern and Outback regions means many important resource projects are usually inaccessible to business executives and investors.
CCI’s Inaugural Great Southern and Outback Resources Tour, however, offers delegates a rare opportunity to gain first hand experience of some of WA’s most exciting resource development projects, many of which are not accessible to the general public.
The tour will focus on a number of new and developing projects throughout the region with site visits to some of Australia’s leading resource companys including Alcoa Alumina Australia, Minara Resources, Worsley Alumina, KCGM and Portman Mining.
CCI chief executive John Langoulant will host the tour, giving attendees the opportunity to draw on his extensive knowledge of developments in the resource sector. Prior to joining CCI, John had more than 30 years experience in the Commonwealth and WA Treasury Departments.
With his appointment as Under Treasurer in 1995, John was responsible for advising the WA government on economic and financial policy issues. John will be able to offer participants an informed perspective on the developments in the region and the associated economic implications.
CCI’s strong relationship with many of the major players in the resource sector means that tour participants are welcomed onto several sites that are not available to the public, and provided the opportunity to meet and hear from a number of senior executives within the resources sector.
Privately chartered flights in an 18-seater aircraft with an air-conditioned pressurised cabin will ensure that you will visit this region in comfort and with minimum delay for travel to these remote regions.
CEO Welcome
I am pleased to have the opportunity to be your host and look forward to welcoming you on the Inaugural CCI Great Southern and Outback Resources Tour.
Western Australia is one of the most productive and diversified mineral and petroleum regions in the world and this is an excellent opportunity to gain an insight into an industry which is currently experiencing considerable growth.
Many of the projects and sites we will visit on tour contribute significantly to Australia’s economy. However, with the sites in this region being extremely diversified and at times substantial in size, they are difficult to envisage unless you have visited the area.
The tour will also provide a well-rounded understanding of the complexity of issues that make this industry both challenging and interesting.
Providing the necessary infrastructure in such a vast region as well as providing good working conditions for a modern workforce are just some of the challenges that business leaders in this industry face.
CCI’s long standing solid relationship with industry leaders within this sector enables us access to sites and to high ranking business leaders that would seldom be available to participants in any other context.
I look forward to joining you on this exceptional tour.
John Langoulant
Tour host and CCI chief executive
