A New Transition Program

Businesses and organisations within the State’s health and community services sector account for around 11 per cent of CCI’s total membership, including a number of private and public hospitals, health care services and aged care facilities.

CCI is involved in a number of industry-based initiatives on behalf of this critical sector, including the New Transition Program. Aimed at offsetting future nursing shortages, this practical program represents an innovative partnership between industry and educators on behalf of private hospital and aged care members.

It is designed to give students a broad understanding of nursing before they commence university studies in an attempt to improve both recruitment and retention rates among students who are considering a career in nursing.

In addition to our involvement in key policy initiatives like the New Transition Program, CCI is dedicated to providing a range of practical, cost-effective support and services to promote the growth of WA’s health and community services organisations and works hard to ensure the views of both large and small businesses are well represented at a state and national level
