Career Advice Australia

Career Advice Australia is an Australian Government initiative committed to providing quality career education, and helping all young Australians aged 13 - 19 make a smooth transition through school and on to further study, training or employment.

The economy is growing and businesses are expanding leading to a growing demand for skilled workers. Career Advice Australia's comprehensive programmes and services aim to help all young people aged 13 to 19 years, obtain the skills, training and advice they need to make the most of their future

As part of the Career Advice Australia initiative, CCIWA has three Regional Industry Career Advisers (RICAs) located in the Kimberley, Goldfields and Pilbara regions. RICAs ensure that young people, parents, schools and local business receive relevant localised industry career information, advice and resources. Regional Industry Career Advisers

The region in which one lives can have a huge influence on the variety of career opportunities available to a person. That's why it so important that young people have access to relevant, local knowledge when they start planning their future career.

Regional Industry Career Advisers keep up-to-date with industry developments, local career opportunities and regional skills needs. They work with their Local Community Partnerships to ensure that schools and young people can get current, locally specific information that will allow them to make informed choices about their future.

Regional Industry Career Advisers also work closely with businesses, employers and industry bodies within their service region. They use these relationships to encourage more employers to be actively involved in offering training and guidance to the region's young people through Adopt a School and Structured Workplace Learning.
