CCI supports an integrated approach between government and industry in addressing labour shortages including:

  • an increase in the investment towards vocational training
  • an increase in the number of traditional trade apprentices which includes engaging in Fast- Track and other accredited pathways for existing employees
  • increasing the skills level of the existing workforce through re-skilling and up-skilling programs to meet future needs.

Building the skills of your existing workforce

Through its Kwinana Skills Centre, CCI can assist employers to up-skills or re-skill their existing workforce through a process of recognising current competencies. These assessments are suitable for businesses within the metals industry.
