Business Policy

CCI’s business policy unit develops policy across a broad cross section of WA industry including climate change, environmental management, chemical industries, resources and energy, extractive industries, food manufacturing, tourism, transport, information and communications technology and the construction sector.

CCI’s policy development and advocacy work includes detailed written submissions, meetings with government ministers and senior public servants and providing evidence to federal and state ministerial inquiries.

Made up of a dedicated team of experts providing support and influence across a broad range of industry development areas, the unit plays a leading role in the development and promotion of business policy.

CCI’s policy forums allow members to contribute to CCI’s advocacy through participation and industry representation. CCI operates six Member Forums that generate and influence debate on issues at a state and national level. This ensures an environment exists which is beneficial to the success of all Western Australian businesses.

For 2010, CCI has significantly revised the structure of its policy committees and forums to better reflect and serve the interests of the business community.
