Host benefits

Taking on an apprentice or trainee through group training, opposed to direct employment has a number of advantages.

Below we've listed a number of key benefits Apprenticeships Australia can offer your business.

  • We allow you to focus on your core business by taking care of all employer obligations including: payment of wages, superannuation, workers’ compensation, organisation of off-the-job training and administrative obligations.
  • Regular proactive field supervision with a supervisor to apprentice ratio of approximately 1:50.
  • Supervisors also handle any disciplinary issues and are a point of contact for Host Companies.
  • As the apprentice/trainee employer we take on the full employer risk, you can hand them back at any time with no additional cost to you and we will look to re-fill that position.
  • We handle the recruitment, selection and placement of the apprentice/trainee, in consultation with you. We  experience above average retention and completion rates of approximately 75% for our non-specific services and 95% for our industry specific oil and gas service, the Energy Apprenticeships Group (EAG).
  • Our service is tailored to your organisation: We work with you to deliver the training programs your want.
  • We have expertise in human resource management, occupational health and safety, workers’ compensation and injury management.
  • You have access to coaching and mentoring of Host Company staff involved in apprentice and trainee supervision as well as help and advice on employment and training issues.
  • We offer support and advice to apprentices’ or trainees’ families throughout the process.
