Energy Apprenticeships Group

The EAG is a group training scheme whose purpose is to deliver a value added, specifically tailored service to the oil and gas sector. EAG exists as a joint venture between the privately funded Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA and the State funded Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT). This initiative is fully endorsed by APPEA, the peak oil and gas industry association.

Since its inception the EAG has boasted some great outcomes including:

  • a successful recruitment program that delivers best possible candidates to the sector;
  • the establishment of a mentor program for apprentice and trainee supervisors;
  • the design of an OSH&E program for the EAG group to complement already successful company programs;
  • tailored group training management programs which have been developed to meet the needs of individual Companies;
  • establishment of a flexible, competency based five year training program, allowing for a range of on-job training to be delivered in a safe and timely manner.

The EAG model is industry driven with its own steering committee chaired by APPEA and comprising of representatives from participating oil and gas companies. EAG follows best practice principles and aims to be seamless in its service delivery.
